Loon Lake is a five piece upbeat indie rock outfit from Melbourne consisting of three brothers and two friends. Their latest single Bad To Me has recently been featured on the TripleJ website and will no doubt feature heavily in your mind once it’s infectious summery grooves hit your ear holes for the first time.

The clip was directed and co-written by Jeff Johnson under his project label Frank Meets Wolf.

Enjoy..

Florence and The Machine & The Drums

Tuesday night saw a distinctly different musical experience in the form of The Drums and Florence and the Machine.

The crowd was happily bopping along to the energetic sounds of The Drums while being pleasantly hypnotised by their erratic and oh so suave dance moves. Although, not even their enviable moves could take away from the petit red head standing side of stage shaking her groove thing to the sweet beats of The Drums and from that moment the night was to be owned by Florence!

Florence and The Machines set was riveting, engaging, magical, whimsical, powerful, soft, and emotive all in one. She moved with the grace and lightness of a dainty fairy while she sang with conviction and power of a great warrior. She spoke to the crowd with a genuine warmth and appreciation that made everyone believe that there was nothing contrived about the lovely lady before us!

I honestly don’t know what else to say about the night except that it was perfection.

Sorry if this bored you silly, i just loved it so much i needed to vent!  If you stuck with it, thanks!

My Strokes Spiel..
Friday night I found myself in a room surrounded by some of the most beautiful kinds of indie kids in Melbourne (myself not included) but i guess that’s to be expected when The Strokes are on the bill right?
They walked out onto the brightly lit Festival Hall stage and to my delight Julian Casablancas was every bit the cliché i had imagined and i honestly mean that in the best possible way. He wore his sunglasses the entire set while swaying back and forwards on the mic stand and clearly using his sexy swagger to his every advantage, making the girls go gaga and the guys green with envy. The set was killer with hit after hit being hurled at us with impressive force! The highlight of the set would have to be What Ever Happened, Is This It and of course Last Night!
